An exciting career opportunity is now available for a General Manager to grow, develop, manage and lead our busy award-winning team at the Bridgeport Hotel.

The hotel reopened in June 2021 and has undergone an amazing $45 million transformation. Retaining its local identity, whilst completing an extensive and stylish new development, the hotel is amongst the very best hotels in South Australia. We are recruiting an accomplished tourism and hospitality leader who dreams of showcasing and managing a successful destination venue in the Murraylands of South Australia. Having just won Best Overall Hotel and Best Redeveloped Hotel (Country) at the 2021 Australian Hotels Association (SA) Awards for Excellence, the Bridgeport is ready to fulfill that dream.

The innovative hotel’s main features include 100 guest rooms, undercover car parking, a restaurant with al fresco dining, a gym, an infinity swimming pool and bar, conference and event facilities as well as a sports bar, gaming room and drive-through retail liquor store.

Owned by EDP Hotels (formerly the Eureka Group), a proudly South Australian owned and operated business. Established in 1993, EDP Hotels operates 18 hospitality venues across South Australia.

EDP Hotels have partnered with leading hospitality management company 1834 Hotels to assist with the management of the accommodation division. 1834 Hotels manage an Australia-wide network of hotels, resorts, apartments, restaurants, and other venues within the hospitality and tourism sector.

We are seeking a dedicated, hard-working hospitality leader with a passion for driving sales, developing teams, controlling and managing expenses and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Candidates must have previous similar experience, and be able to demonstrate:

• A passion for tourism and hospitality, with previous general management experience, not limited to; accommodation, conference and event management;
• Recent food and beverage and accommodation management experience in a highly competitive market and a strong comprehension of revenue and yield management principles is advantageous;
• Proven ability to maximise profitability, through effective cost management and driving sales;
• Strong leadership skills, outstanding communication (verbal and written), and exceptional time management;
• Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of hospitality business operations, with a strong financial acumen;
• Willingness to take a hands-on management approach to develop, motivate and lead a large professional and dynamic team, across all departments;
• A focus and commitment to delivering high standards of service and product quality, to consistently exceed customer expectations whilst ensuring best practices are achieved;
• Ability to liaise, connect and engage with the local community and regional stakeholders professionally and effectively, driving new business by acting as an ambassador of the hotel, township, region and State at all times; and
• Previous working knowledge of various PMS, Channel Management, POS and accounting systems.
